Archon Aircraft - The Greek-born Archon SF1 prototype is on display at AirVenture this year, and AirVenture 2023 hopes to have the kit available to buyers. Angular lift surfaces are attached to rear lift structures in the form of stealth fighter engines and others. With an "F" before the model number, other visual descriptions of jet aircraft, passers-by can't stop wanting to know more about this eye-catching aircraft.
Powered by twin 40-horsepower engines, electrically powered landing gear and pushrod flight controls, the prototype flew more than 350 hours of test flight. The model shown at Oshkosh is equipped with a Rotax 912 100 hp engine. The airframe consists primarily of aluminum and composite skins painted with blind rivets. The kits will come with pre-painted, pre-cut and pre-drilled aluminum sheets, and the plans are written in a way that is easy and understandable for both first-time and experienced builders.

Kostas Lambropoulos will represent G-Aerosports in the UK and is currently establishing the UK company. He plans to be an Archon SF/1 demonstrator at the LAA Rally in September.

The Archon Rotax is powered by a two-stroke engine - any of the 502, 532 or 582 engines - and is made of aluminum. The maximum speed is 210 km/h (113kt) and the load limit is +4/-2g.
Designer and builder Georgios (George) Iliopoulos, who is president and instructor of the Florina Flying Club in northern Greece, was inspired to create the Archon SF/1 after attending the EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh several years ago.
The Archon SF/1 has a fighter-like twin tail and central cockpit, and a "stealth" appearance. The wing and fuselage are attached to each other and both create lift. So far there are two prototypes, the other is a pull-out wagon.
A complete airfield kit is prepared for sale and takes 500 hours to build. It will have pre-designed and pre-drilled panels. "Anyone with basic engineering skills can assemble it," said Kostas Lambropoulos.
