Glock 19 Slide Dimensions - Glock makes the world's best handguns used by military, law enforcement and civilians around the world. While all of their pistols are very popular, the Glock 17 and Glock 19 are probably the top tier.
Both pistols are highly capable and effective. They are both chambered in 9mm and use similar designs, materials and testing standards. However, they also have distinct differences.
Glock 19 Slide Dimensions
So today we're going to take two of the best and most popular handguns, the Glock 17 and 19, head-to-head and try to answer which one you should buy.

* G17 and G19 are available in several models. In this article, we will compare the GEN5 models of the plant.
In many ways, the Glock 17 and 19 are identical. However, the Glock 17 is a full size pistol and the Glock 19 is a small or medium size pistol. They fired the same gun, had the same trigger, and had the same rifling, but the smaller Glock 19 pistol had shorter barrels, grips, and slides.
The Glock 17 has a 4.48-inch (114 mm) barrel, while the Glock 19 has a 4-inch (102 mm) barrel. With shorter barrels, the overall length of the Glock 19 is also shorter. It measures 7.28 inches (185 mm) compared to 8.03 inches (204 mm) on the Glock 17.
When it comes to concealment, most pistols are designed for grip height, which is more important than slide length. Therefore, the difference in grip size is more important than the difference in tank length. The Glock 19 has a grip height of 5.04 inches (128 mm) with an integrated magazine, while the Glock 17 has a grip height of 6.50 inches (165 mm). In terms of slide width and overall width, the Glock 17 and 19 are the same size.

Both feel and accuracy usually depend on the shooter. However, in terms of pistol capabilities, both the Glock 17 and 19 are quite fair in the hands of the average shooter. Technically, since the barrel is longer on the Glock 17, in theory the bullet should provide more stability at longer ranges and therefore be more accurate. But in reality it is very difficult to distinguish between the accuracy of these pistols. Both of them are the most accurate pistols due to many factors. However, the unique multi-angle guns used in Glock pistols are one of the main reasons for their exceptional accuracy. Glock changed the gun and crown on the Gen5 to further improve its accuracy.
In terms of failure, the two pistols are again similar. Although the grip is a bit short, the Glock 19 is easy to hold, even for those with large arms. Weight also affects recoil, and while the Glock 19 is lighter, it doesn't make a huge difference. The pistol should kick harder, but the difference is so insignificant that it takes a true expert to mark the mark.
In terms of capacity, the Glock 17 can hold 17 rounds of 9mm in one magazine per chamber. Remember, that's not why it's called a Glock 17. The “17” refers to the patent number rather than the magazine capacity. The Glock 19 has a capacity of 15 rounds plus one per chamber. Shorter slides mean it holds shorter magazines. However, you could use a Glock 17 in the Glock 19 if you wanted to, or even opt for a high-capacity magazine, but that would reduce the obscurity of the Glock 19, and it wouldn't technically be a "compact" pistol. So in terms of capabilities, both model magazines can achieve the same capabilities, as the G19 can also use the G17 magazine.
Both the Glock 17 and 19 are excellent handguns and can be used in almost any use case. However, they work better in some applications with different sizes. For example, if you're looking for a full-size pistol, perhaps for shooting, or if you want a high-performance home defense pistol out of the box, the Glock 17 is a better choice. On the other hand, if you are looking for a concealed handgun, the Glock 19 is a better choice. Both pistols are good for defense and are widely used by law enforcement agencies and the military around the world.
Glock 48/43x: What We Got Right And Wrong
So while both the Glock 17 and 19 are among the best 9mm semi-automatic pistols in the world and are available for almost any application, their minor differences set them apart. The Glock 19 is a great option for concealed carry with its smaller frame and overall profile. On the other hand, the Glock 17 is better for home defense or last shots due to its higher capacity and larger size. However, many people use 17 handguns for everyday use and many others use 19 handguns for home defense and competition. These two pistols are versatile as they can be used for any application. In the world of weapons, we often hear the word "revolution" in connection with new products. However, there were very few guns that truly revolutionized the gun industry.
When Glock introduced the G17, it really changed everything we thought we knew about guns. The company quickly followed with its sister Glock 19. There are some (and not complicated) differences between the two weapons. In this article, we'll take a look at them and see how they stack up against each other.
Gaston Glock designed the Glock Model 17 in the early 1980s to compete as the Austrian Army's new 9mm pistol. It wasn't the first pistol to use a polymer frame (that honor goes to the H&K VP70), and it wasn't the first to use a shotgun. The genius of the Glock 17 lies in how it takes those elements and integrates them into a simple, easy-to-maintain weapon that is both light and accurate.
The Model 19 was the third gun produced by Glock. (The Model 18 is a version of the Model 17 intended for the Austrian counter-terrorist unit with fully automatic illumination options). It takes all the features and characteristics of the Glock 17 and slims it down a bit, making the gun smaller and easier to hold.

As we mentioned, Glock first developed the 17l model for the Austrian army. Thus, it is worn by soldiers in the field. Its accuracy, robustness and lightness make it an attractive choice for people. But many shooters need a slightly smaller pistol.
Over the years, Glock has updated their pistol designs. They add features like a textured grip and finger grooves for a better grip, as well as interchangeable straps to better fit your hand. In the latest Gen 5 model, the internal mechanism has also been slightly changed. We took a look at the Gen 4 Model 17 and Model 19 for comparison. Both have proven to be consistent and reliable for civilians, military and law enforcement.
There is very little difference between a Glock 17 and a Glock 19 in your hand. Although the Model 19 has a slightly shorter grip, the gun feels the same.
Both guns are the same width (1.26 inches) and have the same distance from the rear of the slide to the breech. Both the Gen 4 Model 17 and Model 19 have interchangeable backstraps, although the Model 17's backstraps will not fit the Model 19 and vice versa. The Glock 19 in our picture is my personal Model 19. Unlike the model 17 used, there is a backstrap with a small extension near the slide.

The height of the two pistols is also different. The Glock 17 Standard Magazine holds 17 rounds and the Glock 19 Standard Magazine holds 15 rounds. At 5.47 inches, the 17 has a bezel less than half an inch taller than the 19.04-inch 19. The Model 17 weighs 32.3 ounces. The smaller 19 model weighs 23.6 ounces.
Barrel and slide lengths are where we see the biggest differences between the Glock 17 and Glock 19. The Gen 4 Model 17 has a slide length of 7.32 inches and a tank length of 4.49 inches. The Glock 19 has a slide length of 6.85 inches and a tank length of 4.02 inches.
Because the length of the tank and the slide are different, the swirl flow cannot be changed between the two tanks. However, each fire control unit on the frame can switch between the two weapons.
