Starting this month, residents of four states in the United States will begin receiving stimulus checks to help them better deal with the effects of inflation on the prices of certain goods and services.

The refunds are for residents who filed personal income taxes for 2020 and also for those who did not earn enough to file taxes in the same year.
"This measure is intended to help Delawareans face higher prices at the grocery store and gas pump," the government said in a statement.

"The State of Delaware is working hard to issue one-time $300 refund checks to eligible taxpayers by the end of May 2022."
Those who do so will each receive a payment of $125; while married couples get double the amount.
It is noted that paper checks will not be issued until July or August, but those who provide bank information with their 2021 tax returns will receive immediate payments.
The remaining $3.9 billion is expected to benefit about 4.3 million people in Indiana, and payments will be made from May through the summer.
Stimulus Payments Are Coming To These States In October
While Illinois is slated to make payments of up to $400 to taxpayers sometime this year, the city of Chicago will offer prepaid gas and transit cards from the Chicago Transportation Program targeted to eligible residents.
The city will issue 50,000 prepaid gas cards at $150 each and up to 100,000 prepaid transportation cards at $50.
He mentioned that 75% of these cards will be necessary for residents of local areas with severe mobility problems; while the remaining 25% is distributed across the city in equal amounts to each district.
The point to note is that the cards are distributed by lottery, starting from the second week of May and continuing until September.
