Alexei Navalny's team released a two-hour video on Tuesday detailing a luxury property on Russia's southern Black Sea coast allegedly owned by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The YouTube feature, accompanied by a blog post by the jailed dissident, claimed that Putin's estate was worth $1.35 billion (€1.1 billion) and paid for "the largest bribe in history."
The video, released less than two days after Navalny was arrested at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport and later jailed. It claims that private land is 39 times the size of Monaco. Among the facilities, it is said to have an ice rink area and vineyards, with a spacious villa containing a theater and a casino.
Described as "the most expensive palace in the world", the palace complex covers over 7,800 hectares (about 19,300 acres), and also includes a church, an amphitheatre, a tea house and a helipad. . The palace is said to have been financed through an elaborate corruption scheme involving Putin's inner circle to get back.

"This is the most secret and well-guarded facility in Russia, without exaggeration," Navalny said in the video. "It's not a country house, it's not a cottage, it's not a residence - it's a whole city, or a kingdom. system, a no-Fly zone, and even its own checkpoint in border. It is like a separate state within Russia. In this state there is one and irreplaceable Tsar. Putin.
The video, which ends with a call for Russians to oppose the government, echoes a 2017 video in which Navalny accused former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of being at the helm of a luxury estate. This investigation led to massive protests by Putin's opponents.
Moscow reporter Emily Sherwin said the latest investigation could increase the number of protesters on Saturday, when Navalny's team has already announced plans for a Russia-wide protest. But for now, totals are likely to change with new restrictions, the ongoing pandemic and unusually cold weather.
"The new Putin investigation is likely to attract a lot of clicks, but it's hard to say if it will lead to more protests, given strict protest laws, COVID-19 restrictions and freezing temperatures."

"The protests will be closer to the Duma elections in September, especially as the coronavirus pandemic has hit the Russian economy."
Within two hours, the video had nearly three million views on YouTube. According to the report, the film was made while Navalny was still in Germany, where he was recovering from a Novichok nerve agent attack in August.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the allegations were old but the property, near the resort town of Gelendzhik, did not belong to Putin. The allegations were first made in 2010 by Sergei Kolesnikov, a businessman who had ties to Putin before his time in politics. On paper, it appears to be the property of businessman and billionaire Alexander Ponomarenko.
"I am not familiar with the investigation," Peskov said. "However, I can immediately say that this record is old. Many years ago we stated that Putin does not have a palace in Gelendzhik."

"We are glad that such an influential American company is ready to cooperate when it comes to matters of national security in Ukraine and disinformation with Russia," the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington said in a tweet.
The move comes after weeks of tension between Kyiv and Moscow over the conflict in eastern Ukraine and a Russian troop build-up on Ukraine's borders, alarming Ukraine's western supporters and the NATO military alliance.
Backed by the United States, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's government blocked three channels from appearing on Ukrainian television in February, accusing them of being instruments of Russian propaganda and partially funded by Russia.
The listed owner of the channels is Taras Kozak, a lawmaker from the opposition platform - For Life party.
What To Expect From The Putin Biden Summit?
Kozak is an associate of Viktor Medvedchuk, a prominent opposition figure who says Putin is his daughter's godfather. The Kremlin said its contacts with Medvedchuk represented Russia's efforts to maintain relations with the "Russian world."
Medvedchuk and Kozak did not respond to requests for comment, but Kozak and Medvedchuk both described the crackdown on the channels as illegal.
Medvedchuk said earlier this year that the clampdown was designed to prevent criticism of Zelenskiy's policy flaws, saying Zelenskiy was "angry" about what was being reported on television channels.
Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko thanked YouTube for the ban on Saturday, calling the channels "part of Russia's propaganda war against Ukraine."
